Let me preface this with saying I have always been a Timberwolf blade fan. I just came back from the Woodworking Show in Tacoma and I bought 4 Olson Pro blades and a Carter Roller guide block. I was impressed by the demo and seemed like a good deal. I have a Ridgid 14" I have been putting off instralling my riser kit. Now I guess I will have to. I am curious if any of you have any experience with Olson Blades?

Scott that is the blades I have been using in my band saw. I keep threaten to try a timber wolf blade because everybody talks so highly about them but I always buy the Olson Pro I guess because they are half the money and I pick them up local at Rockler. I have been very happy with the performance of them. -
I just bought a 5/8" Olson from Rockler and installed it last week. Comparing it to the 1/2" blade I got from Inturra, it seems to have slightly less lead, cuts easier, but leaves a more rough & wooly surface.
I will mention that I rounded the backside of both blades.Comment

How does the price compare to Timberwolf?
I may pick up a couple tomorrow and give them a try.

If you can arrange it, have a close look at the weld before you buy from Olson. Maybe I just got unlucky but I bought 3 Olson blades when I first got my bandsaw and they were truely awful due to misalligned welds. I suffered with them for awhile because I had nothing to compare them to, but when I finally replaced them with blades welded by a local store, it was a night and day difference. If I've still got them I'll take a picture of the weld on the Olson 1" blade.

Well Bob, I guess either I am lucky or you are not, I have bought 5 so far that I use for different things. I use my badsaw all the time and have yet to have an issue with one of these blades. I resaw quite a bit and also cut wet wood with them.Comment
