    Hitachi M12V

Someone is selling one of these new in the box for $100. It's not a huge discount as the street price was $159. Do you think it's a good deal? I was thinking about using it as a table router.

I own two. One is permantly in a table. It's a heck of a router. I'd pay that much for another one new in the box.

If you don't have to pay s/h, it's a great deal.

No, it's from a CL ad. I ended up getting it last night. Do you own one? If so, how do you like it. I played around with it for a bit when I got home and seems pretty solid. But then again I don't have much to compare it with. I was considering the Bosch when I saw this one on CL. Anyone have (or used) both and can tell me how they compare?

Have had mine installed in a router table of my own design for goingh on 8 yrs. Love it, plenty of beef, just keeps on working. The only thing I ever replaced was the electronic speed control a couple of years ago, a DIY installation. I'd give it a 9 out of 10 score.

Had mine about 2 years. Love it. Does everything I ask. Mine is permanent table mount and have done nothing to it but blow it out occassionally.

I have both, but the Hitachi was bought for the table so I never tried it hand held. That is what the Bosch is for.

I have one for the table. Its fine for that, but I am not impressed with its depth adjustment, but I don't use that in the table anyway. My only other complaint is the collet. I"ve had bits start to ride up while in use. In particular 1/4" in bits while using the adapter sleeve. All in all its a dependable router, just not many bells and whistles. I still prefer my Dewalt, but that is for hand held only now.
