Space saving urinal for the shop

There are many times I would love to have a bathroom convenient to my shop. My wife does not like sawdust tracked in the house. I would hate to give up the shop space to put in a bathroom. I may get lucky enough to do an expansion/shop remodel in the next few years. I ran across this space saving urinal that may be a possibility. What do you guys think? I apologize to the female BT'ers.

Hmm, try the marine or hunting supply supply for the toilet seat that fits on a spackle bucket. When using it for #2 don't forget to remove the seat and use a lid that seals well.

A funnel attached to a hose running outside works well.

Actually, some friends of ours had one of these installed when they built their new house. Between their two sons, and the dad, it really did save on the water usage. And the Mrs. said that they were all very pleased that they had it installed. I think I would certainly install one if the space and money allowed. Of course, now that I'm getting older and seem to have to um.......go more frequently, my priorities may differ from yours!!

I have made the considered decision that I can better tolerate sawdust in my house than pee in my garage...

I believe they are also sold in the camping departments of Wal-mart.

If your objection to a bathroom for the shop is space, not plumbing issues, you could put in one of those units from an RV that squeezes everything into about four square feet.

                    For those without plumbing available...

If you use a disinfectant in the flush tank, you don't have to empty the waste tank every day - at least for liquid waste. (PS - never ordered from the company in the link, just familiar with the product)

Cabinetman, I use one of those in my fishing boat. Bought it years ago. Works great. They even have a female version.

I'll disagree with the general consensus here and say i think it is a great idea if the price doesn't bother you. I would rather track sawdust through the house than have a bucket, bottle, or other container of urine sitting in my shop, but that is just me. If you want a little privacy, put a curtain on a track that can be pulled around it.

Just make sure you put a urinal fly in it - it looks like a small target!

All the waterfall pics made me need to .... um....er....... be right back!

MUCH better! I have a basement full bath within 60 feet of my shop, so I'm thinking this isn't much of an issue for me. It would be nice not to traipse to the house, tho....

WOW, I love this website, you can learn so much, and always with such graphical illustrations how can one come here and not learn something. (By the way, the funnel and hose is my accepted fixture, this is a trick I learned while riding many, many miles in the back of a duce and a half while traveling with my favorite uncle)
