    Table saw jigs

    Hi,

I'm new to this site but have a BT3000 for the past 6 years. My question is about the jigs you build. Do you put some type of finish on them? And what kind of finish have you found best for this purpose.

Thank you all in advance. I'm glad there is a website dedicated to this table saw.

    Best Regards,

    Miles

I'll use waterbased poly and/or paste wax on most jigs. If the jig is a one time thing, or a kludge mockup I don't bother with any finishes. If I plan to keep it for a while I'll finish it.

I like the water based poly because it dries pretty quick, easy cleanup, and it makes for a tough surface. If the jig is to do a lot of sliding I'll poly it and then wax it.

Sometimes I'll just use the wax as it's usually in my shop with me and the poly is in my finishes cabinet inside (a repurposed computer rackmount cabinet).
