A good plain clear 12 & 6 ruler

I am looking for the above. Recently I was looking at an old 1993 Woodsmithshop magazine and saw a 6 and 12" rule that really looked good and they claim that they were straight also but course back in 1993 they didn't have a website and the site currently for Woodsmithshop isn't them. Anybody know anything about them? I know they are part of Woodworkers but their site doen't sell products other then the magazine of course. The rulers had 32nd scales on one side and 16th on the other and the inch measurements could be read from either side or either end of the ruler. Man, it sure looked good. Any ideas were I could get something like this?

Thanks hoover that is the site but I guess they don't sell that particular ruler anymore or at least it's not on their site. I think I'll try calling who knows maybe they can direct me to whoever used to make them. I've got to have these particular rulers. Never seen anything as neat. Thanks again for trying though.

Lee Valley

Lee Valley has both the 6" pocket and 12" cabinet maker's rule. I have the 6", it's nice and handy. They also have the stainless steel set that are thinner.

I have the Lee Valley stainless steel set and like them. They are thin but not flimsy and easy to read.

I would still rather have the two I mentioned above but the one's from LeeValley might do if I can't find them. Thanks for the help and if there are any other options I wouldn't mind hearing about them. I thought I had looked at LeeValley before but guess I didn't.

I like PEC brand rules. they are high quality and resonably priced. you are looking for a rule that has "4R graduations".

You could also try any art or drafting supply stores in your area (or online). While most drafting as long since moved to CAD, there are still suppliers or rulers, triangles, etc. Also, clear rules are quite common in the typesetting industry, athough the latter will have additional increments of 6, 10, and 12 per inch, they will have normal inches marked off in 32nds and 16th. There may also be a better variety at fairly inexpensive prices too, although they may not be as durable.

Although a bit pricy, Bridge makes two 6" & 12" rulers. I've been using them for a few years now and I'm hooked. I now find it hard to use anything else. Wish they made one in 24".

Thanks gents for the suggestions I'll check them out. Bruce you may be in luck. Although they aren't the non-glare rulers you mentioned they do have a 24" & 36" available at Bridge. They are SR-24 & SR-36 and called bench rules. Well I found the ones I want at PEC. Thanks for pointing the company and rulers out to me Tom Slick. I do appreciate the help guys. This is just the best darn forum!
