Extreme Birdhouses

Hi again everyone , Here are a few pics of my latest Extreme Birdhouse
It is 9 ft wide and over 8 ft high and is made from 150 yr old reclaimed barn wood.

It has over 100 rooms , 13 roofs and 32 dormers and a fly through tunnel.
I had to cut, grind and paint almost 100 separate pieces of steel for the roof. i gave it 3 coats of paint.

I still have to drill most of the holes and finish the railings .

Wow! Very nice. Looks like a lot of work. What type of birds like such a communal living arrangement? (I know that some wouldn't put up with close neighbors).

And how much does that monster weigh?

For something this size i get mostly sparrows and swallows nesting in it.

This birdhouse probably weighs around 350 - 400 lbs, Maybe 500
I still move it by myself.

All I can add is that the birds in your area must be very happy! Have the animal rights people got on your case yet about interrupting migrations patterns? Why fly south when they live in a house like that?????
