If I had the money, I'd jump on the Jointer and DC. The Unisaw is too much in my opinion (considering I just found one for $500, again if I had the money)

Is the DC much better then what you can get from HF ? The jointer def seems like a nice deal. You may be able to talk him down on the TS also.

The Griz DC has a full 2hp motor and a 12" back curved impeller. The HF "2hp" motor tests out at closer to 1.5hp, and the impeller is ~ 10.75", so yes, IMO the Griz gives you more oomph as the basis of your DC system IMO, and should be more condusive to future upgrades.

Too bad about the jointer.

I agree that the Uni seems high...it looked a little rough too.
