It's impressive that can be done, by both the machine and the operator. Not saying that it should be done... If climbing isn't something that users expect the machine to do, it seems like an awful lot of work, expense and risk of life to prove that it can be done.

That's a wee little fella of a trackhoe. 30K-40K lbs at most. I am impressed. I am a heavy machinery operator by trade, along with the other hats I wear at times and though I would like to think I could accomplish such a thing my fear of heights would keep me from ever attempting! It really is amazing how far machinery has come in the past decade. I wish I could discern who the manufacturer of that excavator is, I have never seen one like it. The stunt was obviously performed overseas. You can kinda tell by the background and also the fact that OSHA would never allow such a thing!!

Seems to me that the real artist here is the one who designed that tower. I believe there are more critical elements there than in the operation of the equipment.

That's an impressive feat all the way around. Would love to have seen that live, or at least on video! Very cool. Was that done in the states?

I enlarged the picture and couldn't make out the logo on the machine.I dont believe it was in the states.I think if nothing else the threat of lawsuits would keep it from happening.I have seen some crazy things with trackhoes some of those guys think they are undestructable but never anything like this.

Has anybody ever seen a backhoe getting onto a rail car?

Man, and I thought using the boom to slow your decent on steep terrain was wild!

Wow. If I were an equipment operator I don't think I'd be attempting that. I wonder what the tower is made of? Concrete?

I would imagine steel. Concrete would crumble and break.

It's a little tiny model, guys, just 4" tall. With a little tiny operator.
